===== Invitation =====

The [[http://www.iapr.org/|International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR)]] [[http://www.iapr-tc7.org/|Technical Committee 7]] invites you to the 5th IAPR Workshop on Pattern Recognition in Remote Sensing (PRRS 2008). This workshop is held in conjunction with the prestigious [[http://www.icpr2008.org/|International Conference on Pattern Recognition (ICPR 2008)]]. The workshop is also co-sponsored by the [[http://www.grss-ieee.org/|IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society]].

===== Scope =====

This workshop has established itself as an important event for scientists involved in the combined fields of pattern recognition and remote sensing. These two research fields have always overlapped, but the large volumes of remote sensing data now coming from last generation sensors require new advanced algorithms and techniques for automatic analysis. This one-day workshop will be the ideal means to spread and exchange experiences by international researchers.

===== Venue =====

The workshop will be collocated with ICPR 2008 in [[http://www.visittampabay.com/|Tampa]]. With pristine beaches, numerous parks, arts and science museums, and vibrant night life, Tampa Bay is a popular destination for tourists.

===== Paper Submission =====

Papers must be written in English, have no more than four (4) double column pages, and should adhere to the [[http://www.icpr2008.org/paper_submission.html|ICPR conference submission guidelines]] regarding the paper format. Reviewing will be double-blind: authors will not know the names of the reviewers of their papers, and reviewers will not know the names of the authors. Details on paper submission are available on the workshop [[submission|web site]]. In submitting a paper to PRRS, the authors acknowledge that no paper substantially similar in content has been or will be submitted to another conference or workshop during the PRRS review period. //However, duplicate submission of a paper to both PRRS and ICPR will be allowed provided that one submission is withdrawn if both are accepted.  Notice of duplicate submission __must__ be indicated on the paper.// Accepted papers will be indexed in **[[http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/|IEEE Xplore]]**.
